The Eagle is a Toby Carvery. It has lovely ironwork which is quite difficult to draw on a small scale and if I draw all of it, I run the risk of the whole piece being just about that. I know the ironwork is what makes The Eagle, The Eagle but I wanted to pay attention to the umbrellas and the steps leading up to the open front door. This took three visits, about four hours work. Making art isn't just about what you put in or leave out, it's also about the times in-between, what happens when you're not there.
